Slush has grown from a 300-person assembly to a community of true global magnitude. The mission of Slush remains the same: to create and help the next generation of groundbreaking entrepreneurs.

CELEBRATING ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Slush is a student-driven, not-for-profit movement originally founded to change attitudes toward entrepreneurship.

Slush has grown from a single gathering in Helsinki to a series of events organized all around the world. We throw bigger events in Finland, Japan, and China, and smaller get-togethers around the globe, from Singapore to NYC. Wherever they happen, our events aim at equipping founders to solve the most meaningful problems of our time.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING

Startups try, test, fail and succeed at the pace that is necessary to solve the biggest socio-environmental issues of our time. For Slush, our most significant sustainability work is in increasing the impact of startups dedicated to solving the biggest problems of the world. With the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as our foundation, some of our most important sustainability work is in creating dialogue, finding the right partners, and inspiring and supporting founders on their journey to provide the world with pragmatic solutions to the issues our societies face.

Sustainability is also at the core of all of our operations, from office operations to analyzing the impact of our global events. Slush Helsinki is an EkoKompassiEcoCompass certified event, meaning that we track and report on our environmental impacts yearly. Some of the things we do to minimize the footprint of our event include: using only biodegradable disposables, partnering with suppliers who make environmentally friendly products, serving only tap water, requiring vegan/vegetarian options, and using recycled or reused materials in the design of the event.
